Therapy? No way! I would rather prefer a chat with a go

Good therapy can be described as your tryst with your personal truths in the comfort of your own mental space, and this is exactly why sometimes, even something as simple as a warm cup of coffee, a well written book, a long overdue deep and meaningful conversation with a dear friend and many more such instances can feel therapeutic in itself. But then, these are fleeting moments which are of meaning and joy in itself, however where do they belong in the larger context of your self in its entirety? Could they add more clarity, meaning and purpose to who you are and help you grow as a person?

They  will definitely, but at a slow pace, and at a more unconscious level.

What if you could propel this growth and clarity and be more aware and be an active agent in this process of your own self discovery and healing ?

Consider this.

There are too many truths to begin with. Absolute/relative. evident/ hidden. self/communal. Do they all demand your attention at this moment? Are you aware of all of them this very instant? This is quite difficult. And sometimes so overwhelming that you get lost in this myriad of “truths”.

Then there are too many that are uncomfortable, and best hidden, from others and even your own self. They might be quite raw and unprocessed, to the extend that it may almost feel as if you are handling a ball of fire in your very hands.

The key words that keep repeating itself are-

Lost.

Confused.

Uncomfortable.

Imagine that you aren’t lost or confused anymore. That you enjoy a sense of clarity and peace despite the chaos out there, you can still find peace within and have this inner compass that directs you to become the best possible version of yourself.

Imagine if you could reduce this uncomfortable ball of fire to a beautiful light, that renders warmth, meaning and solace instead of the scorching searing pain it always did when accessed?

What if you could integrate all these truths/parts you hold, the good ,bad and the ugly to a stable “Whole”?

Well, you can.

With a professional who can (re)create the safest space you have ever felt, with the added element of having the expertise to handle and help you process difficult moments, emotions and truths. Truths that you may not be aware of yourselves, cause of many reasons.

I would like to point out here, that these experts are experts at handling and processing truths/issues/emotions, but not someone who knows the truth themselves to begin with, cause these are your personal truths. So if you are going to an expert expecting that they will answer your questions on what your truths are, who you are, well you are travelling the wrong route my friend.

This article may seem like an oversimplification or a romanticized version of the process, but sometimes its necessary to simplify things to convey a a complicated grossly misunderstood field of therapy/ self work.

Its hard work, and it takes time. But just as with the right ingredients, skill and passion one could end with an heavenly spread, so does skill, expertise, commitment and hard work play a role in ones growth.

And am not just talking about the therapist being an expert as the only criterion.

You are at the center of this process of recreating yourself. And good therapy is just the beginning.
